Whitman Cellars – Washington State

Starting the trip to Washington was nice. We started at Whitman Cellars which was a nice introduction to the wines of Walla Walla. Overall very nice wines and for the price was an added value.

2008 Viognier – grapefruit, citrus, nice white wine for the summer. (B)
2005 Narcissa – tobacco, cocoa, black fruit, cedar, but lacks a little depth. Not bad for a table wine. (B-)
2005 Merlot – spiced cherry, tart cranberry, smokey, lush, a very nice red. (B)
2005 Cab – anise, blackberry, vanilla, earthy, leathery, smokey, long soft tannins for this cab. (B+)
2006 Syrah – ripe dark cherry, anise, fruit, cocoa, earthy, smoked pork. (B)
2007 Port syrah, ripe plum, fig, (C-)
