2007 Carl Roy Cabernet – East Side Cuvee

Delicious cabernet from Carl Roy.  This is the second wine I have had of his and I continue to be very impressed.

Black fruit, leather, cedar, and a hint of anise on the nose of this wine.  On the palette comes a very lean cabernet with a touch of acid.  Solid finish on this wine, this is a gem for the price.  I am sure it is a bit young.  Almost refreshing for a red wine in the summer.  Great BBQ wine if you serve this at the right temperature.  65ish.

Day #2 and this wine just gets much better and bigger.  The nose is similar but has a touch of extra depth.  In the mouth, the length is wonderful.  The wine has evolved with aging and is now a stellar wine.  Much better on day #2.  (A)
